PomairePomaire owes its name to Curaca Pomaire, who in 1482 arrived with a group of indigenous people to a flat and fertile land. During the year 1583, with the abundance of "LOC" clay, raw material to carry out their pottery work. You can walk through its small streets full of local businesses that offer you plates, vases and different arts and ornaments painted and sculpted in colorful clay, don't forget to buy the 3-legged Pig and the "Abundance" that connoisseurs say for may you never lack progress and good luck. Domingo Pomaire was born in 1690, the first native baptized in this redoubt and his son Tomás Pomaire is the first governor of this town between 1742 and 1745, thus leaving the name Pomaire forever attached to these lands.
