You'll have the chance to meet our reindeer and learn about their yearly cycle and the traditions of reindeer herding. The experience includes a delicious, creamy reindeer meat soup prepared by us, served in a cozy and traditional Sámi hut. Here, you can warm up by the fire and enjoy the soup alongside homemade hot berry juice while waiting for the northern lights to appear.
While the aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed, you’ll still have the opportunity to get up close with the reindeer, immerse yourself in Sámi culture, and try your hand at "suopunki" throwing – the traditional lasso technique used to catch reindeer.
The activity is located about 1 kilometer from Ivalo Airport and 10 kilometers from the center of Ivalo, from where transport can be arranged (max. eight people).
Transportation can be arranged also from Saariselkä or Inari for additional fee 45 € / person. If you need transportation from Saariselkä or Inari, please contact us in advance.
