Hector Pieterson Museum and MemorialHector Peterson Museum –covering the 1976 student protests that changed the face of South Africa’s politics; The protest was sparked by the Government's insistence to impose the Afrikaans language as the new language of learning in "black schools." The aftermath of this protest that was initiated, organized and led by students themselves became the turning point of the politics of South Africa. In the process of hundreds of school children were shot and many lost their lives whiles others fled into exile.

Mandela HouseSee the houses of Nobel Peace Laureates Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu located on the same street). Nelson Mandela's house is now a family museum and accessible to the public. A visit to this house sheds some light into this giant's family life. Here he lived with his first wife and later shared the same property with his second wife Winnie.
