Mevlana MuzesiToday's Mevlana Museum (Turkish Mevlânâ Müzesi) is the mausoleum of Jalāl ad-Din ar-Rūmī with the attached lodge of the Mevlevi Dervish Brotherhood, in Turkish Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi Türbesi ve Dergahi, in Konya, Turkey, the former capital of the Sultanate of Rum -Seljuks. The Mevlâna is a Sufi mystic, also known as Mavlâna or Rumi. It was also the Dervish Hut of the Mevlevi Order, better known as the Whirling Dervishes. Sultan Ala al-Din Keykubbad, the Seljuk Sultan who invited Mevlana to Konya, offered his rose garden as a suitable place to bury Rumi's father, Baha ud-Din Walad, when he died on January 12, 1231.
