This boutique winery, which won international awards, began with a dreamer who made a winery in the parking lot of his home. But the need for a cheap cooling place made him look for ancient caves in the area. He found a small opening of a cave filled with dirt. After months of excavations, he discovered an ancient cave that was used as a winery 2000 years ago. In the cave he found a coin from the time of the Great Revolt against the Romans. On the coin was an amphora, an ancient wine vessel. Jacob Berg decided it was a sign... The winery has become one of Israel's leading boutique wineries.
