Meet your skipper at the Lake Hāwea boat ramp and board our comfortable fishing boat for a six-hour fishing trip on Lake Hāwea. After a short safety briefing, we’ll head onto the lake and choose where to fish based on the conditions that day.
The longer trip gives us time to explore more of the lake, spend longer in productive fishing areas and vary our approach as conditions change. Target rainbow trout, brown trout and salmon using techniques such as trolling and downrigging, with opportunities to try other methods where suitable. Fully electric trolling motor means no engine noise while fishing for a quieter, more peaceful experience.
No previous fishing experience is needed. Beginners will be guided through everything, while experienced anglers can get more involved with the fishing and techniques.
Between bites, take in Lake Hāwea’s alpine scenery while enjoying locally sourced treats and cold drinks. You’re welcome to bring lunch or pre-order a locally prepared lunch for the day.
If you catch a legal fish you’d like to keep, we can clean and vacuum-pack it for you to take away. Catch-and-release is equally welcome. After six hours, we’ll return to Lake Hāwea boat ramp.
