Overview

After you have explored the exhibition halls showcasing local customs, traditions and an array of artefacts uncovered at various archaeological sites, the next stop will be Muharraq Souq – an atmospheric bazaar, where you can purchase beautiful fabrics and Bahraini pearls. Last on the agenda is UNESCO World Heritage Site, Qal’at Al Bahrain. Set on a 17.5-hectare artificial hill, it is the site of the former capital of Dilmun and is one of the most prolific archaeological digs in the Arabian Gulf. You will be transported through history with a knowledgeable guide who will proudly share their experience and passion for the country.

Al-Fateh Grand MosqueYou will be vising Al Fatih Grand Mosque and guided by the mosque professional tour guide. Ahmed Al-Fateh Mosque is located in Manama, Bahrain's capital, and is part of an Islamic center. The center includes the mosque, a department for Qur'anic studies and an Islamic library. Construction work of Ahmed Al-Fateh Center began in 1984. It was opened in 1988 by the late Amir of Bahrain, Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. The mosque occupies an area of 6,500 square meters and it can accommodate up to 7000 worshippers.

Bahrain National MuseumOur licensed tour guide will provide you with all information about Bahrain history. The Bahrain National Museum was officially inaugurated by the late Amir H.H. Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa on 15 December 1988. It was considered one of the finest museums of its kind in the Gulf region. Today, the Bahrain National Museum is one of the island’s main cultural landmarks.

Muharraq souqFollowed by a stop in the Muharraq old Houses. Muharraq, the former capital of Bahrain, is known for its cultural contributions through the many restored traditional Bahraini houses that can be found amidst the narrow lanes and byways. The Sheikh Isa bin Ali House is Bahrain’s most impressive example of Gulf Islamic architecture featuring four courtyards, beautifully carved wooden doors, and perforated gypsum panels.

Qal'at al-BahrainOur guide will take you on a journey to the history of Dilmun. Qal’at al-Bahrain is a typical tell – an artificial mound created by many successive layers of human occupation. The strata of the 300 × 600 m tell testify to continuous human presence from about 2300 BC to the 16th century AD.
