- The Koutoubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakech, Morocco. The mosque is also known by several other names, such as Jami ‘al-Kutubiyah, the Kotoubia mosque, the Kutubiya mosque, the Kutubiyyin mosque and the booksellers’ mosque. It is located in the southwest medina district of Marrakech. The mosque is decorated with curved windows, a ceramic strip, pointed merlons and decorative arches; it has a large square with gardens, and is lit at night. The 773-meter (253-foot) minaret includes an arrow and orbs. It was completed during the reign of the Berber Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansour (1184-1199), and inspired other buildings such as the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat. (pass by)

Bahia PalaceBahia Palace is considered one of the grand palaces of the Moroccan city of Marrakech, or what is called the Red City. Created by Minister Ahmed bin Musa, in the 19th century, to commemorate the name of his wife, “Bahia”, and today it is an artistic masterpiece dating from the splendor of Moroccan architecture of Andalusian character which overflows with its civilizational manifestations, in particular What you tell about the secrets of ancient history.
-
Saadian TombsLocated next to the mosque of the Kasbah, the Saadian tombs are one of the only vestiges remaining from the Saadian dynasty which reigned on the golden age of Marrakech between 1524 to 1659. At the beginning of the 18th century, Sultan Moulay Ismaïl indeed decided to remove all traces of the magnificence of this dynasty by asking for the destruction of all the remaining vestiges. However, he did not dare to commit the sacrilege to destroy their graves and ordered that the entrance to the necropolis be walled up.

Medina of MarrakeshMarrakech is a city located in central Morocco, inland, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. It is nicknamed the “red city” or the “ocher city” in reference to the red color of a large part of its buildings and houses. The city was founded in 1071 by Youssef ben Tachfine, at the head of the Berber Empire of the Almoravids. In the past, Morocco was known in the East as Marrakech (still relevant in Iran); the name Morocco comes from the deformation of the Portuguese pronunciation of Marrakech: Marrocos. Marrakech has 928,850 inhabitants according to the 2014 census, spread over an area of 230 km2. The population density reaches 350 inhabitants per hectare in the Medina.

AgafayThe Agafay desert is located thirty kilometers in the South of Marrakech and extends over several hundred acres. This rocky desert, can be likened to a sand desert. Indeed, its white dunes stand and landscape are similar to the Sahara dunes. In the middle of the desert, is a surprising oasis, a haven of peace and tranquility, where the fauna and flora can easily develop. In this paradise, frogs and turtles live peacefully in the oueds, surrounded by water and rocks. Lost in the dunes are still some Berber villages that continue to exist in this austere but sublime nature.
