Memphis and SakkaraMemphis was the ancient capital of Inebu-hedj, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are located near the town of Mit Rahina, 20 km south of Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. According to legend, as related by Manetho, the city was founded by the Pharaoh Menes. You will be visiting the second largest sphinx in Egypt after the one in Giza, it was made out from alabaster stones, it is still has the nose, probably belongs to the pharaoh Ramses II or his son. Then you will be visiting the gigantic statue of Ramses II, was made out of single block of limestone, weights around 70 tones.
