Your adventure begins at the Sayulita bus station, where you’ll hop on a local bus for a scenic 25 minute ride to the charming village of Higuera Blanca, the gateway to Monkey Mountain (Cerro del Mono).
After a brief orientation, we’ll begin an 8 km / 5 mile round-trip hike to the summit. The trail winds through a lush tropical dry forest, surrounding you with the sights and sounds of nature. Along the way, I’ll point out the local flora and fauna, while sharing valuable insights into the history and traditions of this area.
Near the top, a short rock scramble leads us to the summit the perfect place to relax and take in breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, framed by panoramic vistas of the Riviera Nayarit.
We’ll descend along the same trail until we return to Higuera Blanca, where you’ll enjoy a refreshing coconut at one of the village’s most traditional spots. Finally, we’ll take a private car or taxi back to Sayulita, wrapping up a truly unforgettable experience.
