Join a local host in a welcoming home near Santa Elena for an authentic Costa Rican cooking experience in Monteverde. This is a hands-on, small-group lunch class.
You’ll be introduced to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and cook traditional dishes step by step, such as handmade tortillas, rice and beans, plantains, and seasonal sides. The menu varies based on seasonal availability and local traditions—just like Costa Rican families cook at home.
Along the way, your host will explain techniques and the cultural meaning behind the food. After cooking, sit down together and enjoy the meal family-style in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Shared cooking classes are offered as daytime lunch experiences from Monday to Saturday at 10:00 AM and last approximately 3 hours.
A shared dinner cooking class is offered on Saturdays.
The experience is suitable for all skill levels, and vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.
