It is one of the oldest Botanical Gardens in the Western Hemisphere (established in 1765) and is also an important conservation site (particularly for the St Vincent parrot, the Amazona guildingii). Finally, the Botanical Garden is a place of natural beauty and peace.

It is surrounded by craggy mountains and rolling hills, the setting is spectacular and the gardens themselves are a deliciously lush and colorful affair awash with birdsong.
