The site underwent refurbishment during the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) and was an important strategic location, guarding the entrance to the plains where Beijing is situated. Your professional English-speaking tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby and transport you to the Great Wall via a private vehicle. Access to the Wall is available via cable car and chairlift. You have the opption to take the cable car/ski lift halfway up then hike the rest of the way. For the descent, you can choose to take the cable car down or opt for the toboggan slide.
