ChangunarayanChangunarayan, a municipality in Bhaktapur District, is part of the urban agglomeration of the Kathmandu Valley. The municipality was created by merging the former village development committees of Old-Changunarayan, Chhaling, Duwakot, and Jhaukhel in 2014. The municipality of Mahamanjushree Nagarkot was then merged into Changunarayan in 2017. The municipality also houses a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Changu Narayan Temple. This temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and is considered the oldest temple in Nepal. It’s a peaceful and lovely destination that travelers must visit while in Bhaktapur.
