As you drive through the White City, pay attention to the architecture typical of the 18th and 19th centuries. Your guide will show you the site where a Viking burial was discovered. It was here, in the city center, that the largest Viking ship was discovered in 1874. Hornindalsvatnet LakeOn the way to the kingdom of glaciers we pass by the deepest lake in Europe - Hornindalsvatnet. Enjoy the majestic water mirror, which reflects mountains, clouds, forests and charming farms with shaggy sheep. This lake is very large, with an area of 50.5 square kilometers and a depth of 514 meters. The lake contains only a few species of fish (such as trout, char and eel), but the rivers are much more productive. Hornindalsvatnet's source, the Eidselva River, is a famous salmon and trout fishery in Nordfjordeid. Fishing permits can be purchased from local hotels along with maps showing where fishing is permitted. Look closely at the lake as your guide talks about the amazing legends and the Horney monster that lives in this lake.

We drive through Stryn without stopping, leaving this destination for another excursion.

OldenOlden is a very beautiful village surrounded by mountains, located at the mouth of the Nordfjord. In summer, cruise ships dock almost every day. If we arrive when there are no cruise ships, the village will seem asleep. We'll stop for a coffee break and restroom break before setting off to discover the wonders of this enchanting glacial region.

We will drive through the incredibly beautiful Oldedalen valley. Since this is a private tour, we will be able to stop at the most interesting places that are not available on bus tours. Without the crowds of tourists, you will admire the dazzling beauty of glacial lakes surrounded by magnificent flowers.

Briksdal Glacier (Briksdalbreen)Upon arrival at Briksdal Glacier National Park, we will board an open-air electric vehicle, jokingly known as the “Troll Car,” and head along the serpentine road to the Briksdal Glacier. Get your camera ready for stunning shots of countless waterfalls, ice caps on mighty mountain peaks and bleating goats grazing on lush lawns. From the Troll Cars stop we need to walk about 10 minutes to the tongue of the glacier with an amazingly beautiful lake. The trail is uneven and rocky, with slight inclines, so you will need comfortable shoes.
