Tromso Travel is a local family business, caring for our guests and nature. We have our own Basecamp called the Wilderness. If the weather conditions and solar activity seems good, we drive to the Basecamp. Enjoying a campfire, storytelling, snacks and hot beverage, while we wait for the Northern Lights to appear.
Our Northern Lights hunt might lead us to various locations, ensuring finding the best spots for optimal viewing conditions. Sometimes, we even cross the Finnish border. On this tour, we serve snacks & hot beverage, and if the weather permits, we make a campfire.

TromsTroms is one of the best places in the world to experience the spectacular Northern Lights, Aurora borealis. We will do our best to find the best spots. Remember that Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights are natural phenomena caused by solar wind and cannot be guaranteed or predicted. Even if the Northern Lights don’t appear, the experience of being in the Arctic wilderness is magical.
- To experience the Northern Lights you must be outside for long periods in cold winter conditions. Therefore, it is recommended to wear very warm layers, preferably wool, and winter boots. We have some thermal overalls and snow boots for borrowing. Please note that the photos often show the colors of the Northern Lights as being stronger than what is seen with the eye. (pass by)
