Meet your guide and captain at the boat launch on Playa Central, La Ventana. After a safety briefing and gear fitting, we push off into the Sea of Cortez — the "aquarium of the world."
The next hours are an open-ended ocean safari. No fixed route. Your captain — a local ex fisherman who's navigated these waters his whole life — reads the conditions and follows the signs of life: diving birds, splashes, surface ripples. Your marine biologist narrates what we find and explains the behavior and ecology of each species.
When we spot wildlife and conditions are safe, we quietly approach and slip in to snorkel or freedive — never chasing. Possible encounters:
Schools of hundreds of mobula rays (April-june)
Pods of dolphins (all year)
Sea lions (all year)
Whales (December-April)
Rare sightings: orcas, pilot whales, blue whales.
Between encounters, relax on the boat with snacks, water, and a light lunch — with time to ask the biologist about Baja's ecosystem.
Note: Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed. The ocean is wild — that's the point of a safari. What we promise is a full day on the water, in expert hands, in one of the richest marine environments on Earth.
