  • Amador Causeway (Calzada de Amador)
The Amador Causeway is one of Panama City's most scenic and popular destinations, stretching over 6 kilometers and connecting the mainland to four Pacific islands—Naos, Perico, Culebra, and Flamenco. Built using rocks excavated during the Panama Canal’s construction, the causeway offers stunning views of the city skyline, the canal’s entrance, and the Pacific Ocean. It's a favorite spot for walking, biking, dining, and relaxing by the sea. One of the most iconic photo opportunities along the Causeway is the vibrant "Panama" sign
  • The Pedro Miguel Locks are one of the three sets of locks that make up the Panama Canal. Located on the Pacific side near Miraflores, these locks lift or lower ships by about 9 meters (30 feet) as they transition between the Pacific Ocean and Gatun Lake. Though smaller and less visited than Miraflores, Pedro Miguel offers a close-up view of the canal’s impressive engineering and, if timed right, the chance to see massive vessels passing through this vital waterway.
  • The Panama Canal Administration Building, located in the Balboa area, is a historic and architectural landmark built in 1914 during the American era of the Canal. Perched on a hilltop, it offers sweeping views of the Canal and surrounding former U.S. Canal Zone. The Balboa district itself reflects the American influence, with wide streets, colonial-style homes, and lush greenery—once home to Canal employees and still rich in history and character. (pass by)
  • Casco Viejo
Plaza de la Independencia, located in the heart of Panama City’s Casco Antiguo (Old Town), is one of the most historic and vibrant squares in the country. It was here in 1903 that Panama declared its independence from Colombia. Surrounded by iconic colonial buildings like the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Interoceanic Canal Museum, and charming cafes, the plaza is a lively hub that captures the essence of Panama’s cultural and historical heritage.

  • We visit the Pedro Miguel Locks because it offers a convenient and efficient way to experience the Panama Canal during a short layover.
  • Although we don’t enter a visitor center, this stop gives travelers a real sense of the Canal’s scale and function—without risking delays for their return to Tocumen Airport.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
