BebelplatzJust after the island, You see the Forum Fridericianum, which consists of the State Opera, the Law Faculty of Humboldt University, Humboldt University, the State Library, and the first Catholic Church in Berlin St. Hedwig's Cathedral. You are now in the middle of the forum on Bebelplatz – famous as the 'Nazi Book(25.000) Burning Square, where you find a memorial in remembrance of the burning of the books in 1933.

Checkpoint CharlieThe next stop of our tour is Checkpoint Charly: one of the most famous border crossings of the Berlin Wall, which almost ended up as the starting point of a third world war.

Topography of TerrorAlong the former border strip, you will see original parts of the Berlin Wall and the site of the "Topography of Terror," one of the most frequently visited documentation centres on the period of National Socialism, the former site of the Headquarters of the SS and Gestapo. Right next to it, you find Martin-Gropius-Bau, where exhibitions of the well-known Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and the international exhibition David Bowie have taken place amongst others. In its front, the Prussian Parlement.
