This tour starts by collecting you from your accommodation or an agreed meeting point. No one lived in this area before that as Papeete means "water basket" Area is full of natural springs, one is called the Queens bath and is situated in our government or Assembly gardens. Stop at the Presidential place and learn about our government and how we became French in the 1840's and how this affects modern polynésian life. Drive by or walk past the street art (your choice) from the Cathedral to the Papeete town hall built in the style of Queen Pomare VI 's palace before a guided visit of the market's lower level followed by approximately 30 minutes for shopping. If wished we can finish with a short visit to the Pearl museum before returning to your accommodation unless you wish to stay in town for lunch or dinner.
