Overview

Peninsula Scenic Driving Tour is a low frills, all weather, sightseeing tour for guests who want to see Melbourne and beyond, in a driving tour that requires little walking and physical activity and can be enjoyed even during a rainy day.

In a period of no less than 4 hours you will get to experience a drive on the Formula 1 track around the scenic and beautiful Albert Park Lake, enjoy a stop or two in St Kilda and spend some time on a photoshoot at the iconic Dendy St Beach. As a scenic tour we will travel along the beautiful Beach Road which gently follows the curves of the bay. Our main destination is the Mornington Peninsula, where you will learn about its wineries, see bushland and enjoy panoramic views from Arthurs Seat. Returning home, we travel the 80km back along the bay and freeway.

An assortment of non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

As a low frills package, no additional expenditure is necessary, unless you would like to purchase a meal during the tour.

  • Considered one of the most beautiful Formula 1 tracks in the world, the track around the Albert Park Lake is where the Australian Formula 1 takes place each year. Ride on the track, stop at the pits and starting line for photos and see the Melbourne skyline in between the palm trees. Even if you are not a fan of Formula 1, you will appreciate the views and bird wildlife which calls the area home.
  • St Kilda's iconic Luna Park is a historic amusement park inspired by Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York. It might be that as we pass this attraction you may hear screams and yells coming from the riders of the Scenic Railway, which was opened in in December 1912 and is the oldest continually operating roller coaster in the world. If you see someone standing in between the carriages, don't worry! The Scenic Railway is one of three roller coasters in the world that has a brakeman who stands in the middle of the train. We can stop at Luna Park for a photoshoot, if you desire. (pass by)
  • The route follows the very beautiful and picturesque Beach Road where you will see multimillion dollar designer houses on one side, and the great views of Port Phillip Bay and the numerous beaches on the other side. (pass by)
  • Dendy Street Beach
There will be a 30 minute stop-over at the famous Dendy Street Beach. This is the beach that is famous for its multicoloured wooden beach huts. It is also the most photographed beach in Victoria. In fact, this stop-over is done so that you will have the chance to do your own photoshoot, not only of the numerous coloured huts, but also of the views of the city in the distance, and other fantastic sights looking out into the bay. There are free public toilet facilities at this beach.
  • Arthurs Seat
Arhurs Seat is situated on top of a small mountain which provides a number of viewing spots and lookouts. On clear days it's possible to see Melbourne's skyline in the distance.
  • Chapmans Point
A great lookout which provides an excellent place to take memorable photos and see where the ocean enters the bay.
  • We drive back towards Melbourne along the Esplanade through and around Mt Martha, which is located about 60–70 km southeast of Melbourne. It’s where bushland meets the bay, offering a peaceful lifestyle and a strong sense of community. At this point the Esplanade can be likened to a "mini" Great Ocean Road, with its curves, postcard-worthy scenery and natural surroundings. (pass by)
  • Olivers Hill Lookout
Our final scenic destination, Oliver's Hill Lookout, offers scenic views across Port Phillip Bay with Melbourne's skyline much more clear in the distance. This location has been an inspirational site for some local artists.
