Inside, you can see historic household items, traditional tools, photographs, and exhibits that bring Hakata’s past to life. I’ll introduce you to Hakata’s unique local culture, traditional crafts, and famous festivals, including the Hakata Gion Yamakasa. Depending on the day, you may also have the chance to see traditional craftspeople demonstrating their skills. Rather than simply looking at old objects, we’ll use the museum to understand how ordinary people lived and how Hakata developed into the lively city we know today.
