  • The historic German village of Bethany was established in 1842 and was the first major settlement in The Barossa Valley. Many of the original buildings still exist today, learn about what brought the settlers to this area and what they did when they arrived, as we make our way to our first tasting. (pass by)

    With a history dating back to 1842, we visit what once was the site of a trading village settled by German migrant Christian Auricht, this remarkable location is the home of the family-owned producer of award-winning wines including The Freedom 1843 vineyard that is one of the world's oldest shiraz vineyards.

  • Chateau Tanunda
    Château Tanunda, Icon of the Barossa, was established in 1890 and is the site of some of the Barossa Valley’s first vines planted, as well as its first winery. The majestic bluestone winery and vineyards are a living testament to the colourful history and spirit of Australia’s most famous wine region. Now, thanks to the passion and dedication of the Geber family, this 135-year-old Barossa estate is celebrated amongst the top winemaking estates in Australia.
  • Maggie Beer's Farm Shop
    Enjoy a coffee or tea overlooking the peaceful dam and olive grove beyond, you may even be lucky enough to catch sight of one of the local turtles! With a vast array of produce, kitchen items and books to browse and perhaps take home a souvenir of your visit to the Barossa Valley.
