Cenote SaamalSwimming in a cenote is a relaxing experience that can be enjoyed in deep freshwater pools. Characteristics of Cenotes They are freshwater pools fed by rainfall and river filtration. The water temperature is a maximum of 24°C. They are formed by the erosion of limestone rocks. They are natural wonders found throughout the country, primarily on the Yucatan Peninsula.

During the Caste War, more than twenty families left Valladolid for Cozumel and repopulated what we know today. Valladolid is the second largest city in Yucatan and the oldest in the state. At the Zací Regional Handicraft Center, you'll find many handicrafts you'll love to take home, such as embroidered huipiles, guayaberas, basketry, jewelry, and saddlery. To indulge your palate, you'll find local restaurants offering Yucatecan delicacies, such as venison pipipián, salbutes, panuchos and papadzules, stuffed cheese, cochinita pibil, chicken stew, and beans with pork; in short, the specialties that have placed Yucatecan cuisine among the best. At the end of the meal, we recommend having xtabentun. It was incorporated into the Magical Towns in 2012.
