Great SphinxThe Great Sphinx of Giza is one of the most mysterious and famous monuments of ancient Egypt. With the body of a lying lion and the head of a pharaoh, it symbolizes royal power and divine protection. The massive statue is about 73 meters long and 20 meters high and was carved from a single limestone rock over 4,500 years ago, presumably at the time of Pharaoh Chephren, whose pyramid rises just beyond. The Sphinx has been guarding the pyramid plateau for millennia and faces east towards the rising sun, a symbol of rebirth and eternity in the ancient Egyptian faith. Despite erosion, sand and time, it still exudes an almost mystical dignity that captivates visitors from all over the world.

Valley Temple of KhafreThe Valley Temple of Chephren is one of the best preserved structures of the Giza pyramid complex. It once served as the entry point for the cult of death of the pharaoh Chephren, whose pyramid rises majestically behind it.
