Ananuri fortress complexTour continues by visiting the famous fortress of Ananuri which had been built up in XVI-XVIII centuries. We have an opportunity to enter the castle complex and get known to the full history of its in detail. Ananuri is located on the left bank of the Aragvi River, along the famous original Georgian Military Highway, 66km from Tbilisi. Aragvi RiverThe White Aragvi flows from Gudauri down to the town of Pasanauri, where it is joined by the Black Aragvi the main river of Gudamakari to the north-east. Together, these two rivers continue as, simply, "the Aragvi"; from Pasanauri, the Aragvi flows south-east to the Jinvali Reservoir, where it is joined by the Pshav Aragvi before flowing south to merge with the Mtkvari River by Mtskheta, Eastern Georgia's ancient capital just north of Tbilisi.
