Its inhabitants were protected from all sides by the strong walls. The Fort offers an amazing view of Maota Lake. We are given a picture of the lavish lifestyles of the former Kings of Rajasthan through intricate wall murals and frescoes crafted from priceless gems and jewels.

Hawa Mahal - The Palace of BreezeWe visit a 18th century masterpiece constructed by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Hawa Mahal is a honeycomb with five stories! This unusual structure features 953 tiny windows, known as jharokas, that are embellished with elaborate latticework. The whole palace is a representation of Lord Krishna's crown. The fact that a pleasant air always fills the Palace, regardless of the season, is an intriguing feature of the architecture.

Jal MahalThe day's next highlight is arguably the most beautiful site in Jaipur, the Water Palace. This Palace used to be the shooting lodge for the Maharajah. The low rise structure appears to float in the centre of Sagar Lake. It is a breadth taking sight of light sand coloured stone walls in stark contrast to the deep blue of the waters of the lake.
