Hassan TowerThe Hassan Tower is an emblematic tower of Rabat, capital of Morocco, constituting the minaret of an unfinished 12th century mosque
-
Kasbah des OudaiasThe Kasbah of Oudaya(s), or Oudaïa(s), is a former fortified military camp located in Rabat and built in the 12th century. Since 2012, the kasbah has been included on the UNESCO world heritage list [1]. There we find in particular one of the first palaces built by the royal dynasty of the Alaouites, still reigning.
-
Bab ChellahWe take you to discover the fortress of Challa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012 and one of the main tourist attractions of Rabat. It contains Roman remains as well as a medieval Muslim necropolis.
-
Royal Palace of RabatThe Royal Palace (formerly Imperial Palace or “dar el-makhzen”) in Rabat, capital of Morocco, is the main royal palace in the country and the official residence of the Moroccan royal family. Originally the palace of Alawite sultans, it is today one of the multiple palaces or royal residences of the “imperial cities” (dars el makhzen). This is the case of the Skhirat Palace, where an attempted coup d'état took place during the time of King Hassan II. Nowadays, the Royal Palace of Rabat is considered more of an administrative building, in fact, King Mohammed VI (son of Hassan II) does not reside there[1]. It is in this palace that the seat of government is located.
