ArnarstapiArnarstapi is a fishing village on the peninsula of Snæfellsnes. Once you get there, you will be greeted by Bárður Snæfellsás, the first settler and guardian of the peninsula. But really, this village is famous for its shoreline and it abrupt cliffs falling into the Atlantic Ocean.
- At the tip of the peninsula culminates an impressive stratovolcano covered by the glacier of Snæfellsjökull. This volcano/glacier, central to the national park of the same name is the volcano where actually takes place the original story of "Journey to the center of the earth" by Jules Verne. We will be driving around it during our commute between places of interest. (pass by)
