- Today you will depart early. Our team will pickup your group at 5:30 AM, so please ask your hotel to prepare breakfast boxes for pick‑up. We will pause in the small town of Anlong Veng for breakfast, Anlong Veng is historically significant as the final stronghold and de facto capital of the Khmer Rouge until 1998, and it is the place where Pol Pot died. The town contains several sites of historical interest, including the former residence of Ta Mok, which many visitors include on their itinerary. After Anlong Veng we continue to the spectacular Hindu temple of Preah Vihear, perched on the crest of the Dângrêk Mountain range near the Thai border. Preah Vihear dates from the Angkorian period (9th–12th centuries) and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; from the temple terraces you have sweeping views across the plain and can even see across the border into Thailand. We will spend approximately two hours exploring the temple complex, its intricate carvings, and the dramatic cliffside vistas. (pass by)

This journey is an excellent opportunity to combine your visit to Koh Ker & Preah Vihear temple. You will have the chance to visit notable temples such as Prasat Koh Ker, Prasat Thom, Prasat Bram (known for its five towers), Prasat Neang Khmao, Prasat Chrab, Prasat Damrei, and Prasat Krachab.
