- And Then we will move towards the oldest building of the British rule in the city, the St. John’s church, Near the church lies the grave of Job Charnock, who is the founder of the city. It is a stone and brick structure with beautiful interior; built of wood and marble. You can see the large paintings of the Last Supper on the walls.
