Hassan II MosqueBuilt partly on the sea, it is a religious and cultural complex, spread over nine hectares and includes a prayer room, an ablution room, baths, a Koranic school (madrasa), a library, a museum, and a Academy of Traditional Arts. It is the largest mosque in Africa, and the 3rd largest mosque in the world.

A former Catholic sanctuary in the city of Casablanca, it is surrounded by a vast public garden, the Parc de la Ligue Arabe.

The Habous district is a unique example of the reconstruction of a medina where, while respecting the traditional style and habits, French architects, including Henri Prost, complied with the rules of modern town planning. This district is now home to many Moroccan artisans, notably booksellers, as well as the Bennis patisserie, famous for its gazelle horns and other Moroccan pastry delights.
