Today it exhibits posters from the Maoist period of communist China, especially from the Cultural Revolution period. The museum is located in the basement and is only two rooms,but houses a rich collection of rare posters.

After the 1937 Battle of Shanghai, Japan occupied the Chinese sections of Shanghai, but this area was still under the control of the European powers and accepted 20,000 European Jews who sought refuge in Shanghai.
