First visit the Catacombs which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock dates back to the second century, discovered by chance when a donkey legs fell off in the mouth of the shaft leaded to discover it in 1900 AD.
- Then Pompey Pillar dates back to the second century & built by king Pastimous as a memorial for the emperor Qastentine who forgave the people of Alexandria after they protested against him & distributed corn for them because the hunger that they suffered from it but it has called Pompey's Pillar because the crusaders thought Pompey the roman leader head hang on its top.
