  • Pingvellir National Park
Thingvellir national park is a UNESCO World Heritage attraction where nature meets history. This is the setting of Althing, the worlds oldest parliament founded in 930AD by the viking settlers in Iceland. You can enjoy an easy hike down Almannagja gorge where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are pulling apart.
  • This is an optional lunch stop. Efstidalur farm restaurant and café offers a full menu made from the produce of the farm. Enjoy a freshly caught trout from a nearby lake, a leg of lamb, beef steak or even original beef burgers. Downstairs you can enjoy home made dairy ice cream. From the farm you have a window view into the barn and by the entrance you can pet the friendly calves and collie dogs.
  • Gullfoss
Gullfoss waterfall tumbles and plunges into a crevice some 32 meter (105 ft.) deep. The waterfall falls from the river Hvítá and offers exceptional scenery and views showing the true beauty of Iceland’s nature.

  • Seljalandsfoss
This picturesque waterfall faces the traffic heading along the Ring road of Iceland. It’s narrow and falls off a cliff above a cavern. It’s quite easy to walk up to the base of the waterfall and behind it along a pathway inside the cavern.
