Cetinje Monastery - Holy keeper of relics After approximately one hour of scenic driving, we arrive in the historic royal capital of Cetinje. Our first and most significant stop is the revered Cetinje Monastery, one of the most important spiritual centers in the country. Originally built in the 15th century during the time of the state of Zeta, the monastery became the epicenter of Montenegrin culture, literacy, and education. Throughout history, it was destroyed and rebuilt several times. After the invasion of Suleiman Pasha, it was reconstructed, preserving its spiritual and national significance. Within its modest yet sacred chambers, invaluable Christian relics are kept: fragments of the Holy Cross, the hand of John the Baptist, and the relics of Saint Peter of Cetinje. After a 40-minute drive, we reach the Dajbaba Monastery.Under the Dajbaba hill, not far from the capital of Montenegro - Podgorica, is the Dajbaba monastery. This monastery was built in 1897 on the basis of a miraculous vision of shepherd Petka, dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The fact is that the monastery itself is carved into the rock. At its foot, the Dajbabe monastery has an inscribed church in the shape of a cross. The entrance porch with bell towers is the only part of the monastery that is outside the rock of the actual cave. The relics of Saint Simeon of Dajbap are preserved inside the monastery. The monastery is special for the harmony between man and nature. On this occasion, man understood the message and did not destroy nature, but adopted it.

After approximately one hour of driving from Dajbaba Monastery, we arrive at the most visited and revered shrine in the country — the magnificent Ostrog Monastery. Dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog, who lived in the 17th century, the monastery is carved dramatically into a vertical cliff at 900 meters above sea level. His relics are preserved here, and tradition says that his body was found incorrupt seven years after his death. Ostrog is renowned for the miracles and healings attributed to the saint, drawing pilgrims from all over the world, regardless of faith. More than a monument, it is a place of deep spirituality and inner transformation. Visiting this extraordinary sanctuary offers not only breathtaking views, but also a profound sense of peace and reflection.

After visiting the monastery, we continue to Koliba Restaurant for a well-deserved lunch break. Here, you will have the opportunity to taste authentic Montenegrin cuisine — traditional dishes prepared according to local recipes, offering a true flavor of the region. After lunch, we begin our return journey. Along the way, we will make a scenic photo stop overlooking the Adriatic Sea — the perfect moment to capture the beauty of Montenegro’s coastline.
