Overview

Experience two countries in just half a day on your own private trip from Copenhagen to Malmö. Your Local Danish host meets you at Copenhagen Central Station, and together you take the smooth 40 minute train ride across the Øresund Bridge. Your round trip ticket is included.

In Malmö, your host leads a private two hour walk through the city’s most charming areas, including colourful Gamla Väster, the King’s Garden and the historic Malmöhus Castle. You’ll hear the stories of how Malmö was once part of Denmark, how the city became Swedish in the 1600s, and how shared history and friendly rivalry still connect the two countries today.

After the walk, you enjoy a classic Swedish fika at a local café, with coffee and a pastry included. You can then decide whether you’d like to stay and explore Malmö on your own or travel back to Copenhagen together with your host. If you choose to return with your host, the whole private experience takes around four hours from start to finish.

  • Copenhagen Central Station
We begin your private tour at Copenhagen Central Station, the historic and lively gateway to the city. It’s an ideal starting point for setting the scene before we head out to explore together.
  • Oresund Bridge - Oresund Bridge
We travel from Copenhagen to Malmö by train, crossing the iconic Øresund Bridge. Sit back and enjoy the smooth, quiet 40-minute journey as we glide over the strait with beautiful views of the water and coastline. Your train ticket is included in the tour price, so you can simply relax and enjoy the ride.
  • The Knotted Gun
The Knotted Gun, also known as the Non Violence Sculpture, is one of Malmö’s most iconic landmarks, placed just outside the central station. This striking bronze artwork depicts a revolver with its barrel tied in a knot, symbolising peace and non violence. Created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd, it has become a global symbol with versions displayed in major cities around the world. The Malmö sculpture stands as a gentle reminder of Sweden’s long tradition of peace and dialogue.
  • Malmöhus Castle (Malmöhus Slott) – On your private tour, we pause outside Malmö’s historic castle, the oldest surviving Renaissance fortress in Scandinavia. Built in the mid 1500s under Danish king Christian III, it has served as everything from royal residence to prison. Today it forms part of Malmö Museum and is surrounded by a peaceful moat and green parkland. We do not enter the castle, but even from the outside it offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s past. (pass by)
  • Castle Mill Slottmollan
A traditional Dutch style windmill sits quietly in the green surroundings of Slottsparken, just a few minutes from Malmöhus Castle and the organic gardens of Slottsträdgården. On your private tour, we stop here for a moment to share a bit about Malmö’s canals, its former fortress landscape and the city’s long garden tradition. It’s also a great spot for relaxed photos with the mill, the bridges and the water in the background.
  • We continue our tour with a stroll through Slottsparken, one of Malmö’s most peaceful green escapes wrapped around the old castle grounds. The winding canals, small bridges and colourful gardens make it a favourite place for locals to unwind. It’s an ideal setting to enjoy a bit of nature while we uncover more of the city’s past. (pass by)
  • Stortorget
In the centre of Malmö you’ll find Stortorget, the city’s impressive 16th century main square. Framed by historic buildings such as Malmö City Hall, it has been a key gathering place for centuries. Today it remains a vibrant hub where architecture, local life and centuries of history all meet.
  • Malmo - Lilla Torg
This small cobblestone square is one of Malmö’s most atmospheric corners. Originating from the late 16th century, it’s lined with beautifully preserved half timbered buildings and a cosy mix of cafés, bars and restaurants. It’s a lively spot where centuries of history blend naturally with the city’s modern social scene.
  • We finish your private tour with a cosy Swedish fika at Ruths Café near Lilla Torg, where both coffee and a pastry are included. If you’d like to stay and enjoy Malmö longer, you’ll receive your return train ticket directly in hand. Guests heading back to Copenhagen return together with the host for a smooth and easy journey.
