Post Office Nuwara EliyaIt is said that this post office was built in the year 1894 by the British rulers during the colonial period of Sri Lanka. The building is constructed entirely of red brick in the late 1990s Victorian architectural style. The clock tower designed in relation to the building is particularly prominent here. In the year 2012, the upper floor of this post office was developed as a tourist accommodation at a cost of 5.4 million rupees.

Victoria Park of Nuwara EliyaVictoria Park is a public park located in Nuwara Eliya, next to the Nuwara Eliya Post Office in Sri Lanka. Originally the park was the research field of Hakgala Botanical Garden. The park was formally named in 1897 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The park was established with the planting of its first tree, an Oak, by a visiting German Princess. The Nanu Oya runs through the park, creating a number of small lakes. A number of rare bird species can be found in the park. At the far end of the park is a small children's playground and miniature ridable railway.

Ambewela is known for its cool climate, the temperature stays below 17 celsius throughout the year. The area is known as the widest grassland in Sri Lanka, and a perfect bird watching location.
