  • Midhope Castle
Midhope Castle – Lallybroch Our first destination is one of the most beloved locations in the entire series: Midhope Castle, known to millions as Lallybroch, Jamie Fraser's cherished family home. Standing before the iconic front steps, you'll instantly recognise the setting where Claire found family, friendship, and a place to call home. The peaceful surroundings make it easy to imagine Jamie’s sister, Jenny Fraser, marching across the courtyard, issuing orders while everyone else pretends they're in charge. With plenty of time for photographs, you'll have the opportunity to soak in the atmosphere and feel like you’re a part of one of Outlander's most treasured locations. (This is an exterior visit)
  • Blackness Castle
Blackness Castle – Fort William From charming village life to imposing military might, our next stop is Blackness Castle, which served as Captain "Black Jack" Randall's garrison headquarters of Fort William Fort William in the series. Jutting dramatically into the Firth of Forth, the fortress earned the nickname "the ship that never sailed" due to its unique shape. Here you'll hear stories of the real castle's turbulent past while revisiting some of the series' most dramatic moments. The views alone are worth the visit, offering breathtaking panoramas across the water and towards the distant Highlands. Thankfully, unlike Jamie Fraser, you'll be free to leave whenever you please. (This is an exterior visit)
  • Linlithgow Palace
Linlithgow Palace – Wentworth Prison Our adventure continues at the magnificent Linlithgow Palace. This grand royal residence provided the exterior setting for Wentworth Prison, one of the most unforgettable locations in the Outlander story. While the palace's real history is considerably more regal than its television role, its dramatic architecture made it the perfect filming location. As the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, it offers a fascinating glimpse into Scotland's royal past alongside its Outlander connections. The impressive ruins and stunning loch-side setting make this a highlight for history lovers and television fans alike. (This is an exterior visit)
  • Doune Castle
Doune Castle – Castle Leoch Next, we travel to the magnificent Doune Castle, instantly recognisable as Castle Leoch, home of Clan MacKenzie. As you walk through the great hall and climb the ancient stone staircases, you'll be stepping into one of the most Important locations from the early episodes of the series. This is where Claire first met Colum MacKenzie, where she encountered Geillis Duncan, and where her extraordinary Highland adventure truly began. The castle's remarkably well-preserved interiors make it one of the most immersive Outlander filming locations in Scotland. And yes, for those who know their Scottish film history, this castle has also appeared in a few other famous productions. Scotland does enjoy getting its photograph taken. (This is an exterior visit)
  • Culross
Culross – Cranesmuir Our journey continues to the beautifully preserved village of Culross, which doubled as the fictional village of Cranesmuir. With its cobbled streets, whitewashed houses, and centuries- old charm, stepping into Culross feels like travelling through the stones yourself. Fans will immediately recognise the home of Geillis Duncan and many of the village scenes from Season One. As you wander the narrow lanes, you'll discover why filmmakers fel in love with this remarkably untouched corner of Scotland. It's one of those rare places where modern life seems to have politely stepped aside and allowed history to remain centre stage.
  • South Queensferry
South Queensferry & the Forth Bridges (time permitting) If time allows, we'll stop in the picturesque town of South Queensferry for spectacular views of the iconic Forth Bridges. This is an ideal opportunity for photographs and to enjoy the charming waterfront setting.
