Departure from Chantauvent – far from the crowded jetties, close to nature. Our family-run guesthouse, where the bay has been our home for generations. Feel the fresh morning breeze as we cruise towards the first stop.
- Unlike the mainland which is of volcanic origin, Ile aux Aigrettes is made up of coralline limestone. It is home to the last remnants of dry coastal forest, once found around most of Mauritius. (pass by)

We will pass next to the remain of the ship Wreck the Dalblair. On the fateful night of 6-7 February 1902, Le Dalblaire – a three mast ship made entirely out of steel – got trapped in between the rocks in Blue Bay. The ship came from Cardiff in The UK and was heading towards Port Louis with a cargo of coal. There was a crew of 24 men on board under the command of Captain McLaren.

The island is of pure coral origin and has had Islet National Park status since June 5, 2004.
