Overview
Santa Cruz and Nicoya Towns are gateways to captivating woods, featuring rivers and tropical dry forests in the region's most important protected area. Short trails or a hike upstream leads to the Brazil Waterfall.
- 👟 Bring hiking shoes that can get wet or strap sandals (Chaco's, Teva's, Keen's, etc).
- 👕 Light clothing and swimwear are recommended for comfort.
- 🧴 Don't forget a towel and mosquito repellent for your visit.
- ☔ Rain gear is advised from May until November due to seasonal weather.
- 🚫 Brazil Waterfall might be short of water or dry between late December and April; however, the water holes remain available year-round for cooling off.
- 🍽️ Breakfast stop is not included but can be arranged if pick-up is coordinated 45 minutes earlier at a local restaurant ($6-$10 per person).

- Bakery Stop for optional pastry and use of restrooms (no visitor center or bathrooms are available at the Park) (pass by)
- We will cross a small river to arrive to park ranger station (knee level) and start the naturalist experience. (pass by)
- Choose either to walk 3/4 mile loop trail (with a steep section) to discover the local flora biodiversity, and tropical hardwoods to visit water holes to cool off. OR hike upstream 1/2 mile to Brazil waterfall (pass by)
- When you are ready we will drive back to Santa Cruz downtown, to get an optional lunch at a typical Restaurant (pass by)
