It is located on the Museumpark, next to the Royal Palace so that it can be easily accessed by public transportation. The Kunstmuseum Den Haag is a museum of modern and contemporary art, as well as a major tourist attraction for The Hague. Visitors are able to see an extensive collection of paintings and sculptures from all over the world, going from old masters to modern artists. The building was designed by Willem Marinus Dudok in 1931 and opened its doors in 1937. The museum has been closed for restoration since 2009, but will reopen its doors in 2020 with a new name: NEMO - National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.
