This land lies about 70 km south - east of Cape Town just beyond the Hottentots Holland Mountains. This region is one of the more intensively farmed districts of South Africa which produces 60% of the national apple crop.Lately it has been known to produce cool wines because of its notable and successful increase in the wines. BredasdorpLocated in the Southern Overberg region of the Western Cape Province, South Africa. It lies about 160 km south-east of Cape Town on the Agulhas Plain and only 35 km from Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. The town has a museum dedicated to the shipwreck of the Arniston and the Merino Statue located at the entrance of the Bredasdorp/Napier Co-operative erected in honour of the merino sheep. The town is known for sheep farming and boast of other agricultural activities that includes wheat, canola, milk and indigenous fynbos cultivation.
