Overview

Guiding for me is a passion, and if you are curious to learn about our culture, history and people join me on my walks.

As the world entered the Covid lockdown, in March and in December 2020 Zagreb in Croatia was hit by two strong earthquakes. This is way most of the city center buildings are hidden under scaffolds.

We can still walk around and tell the story of the the people, country and the city that goes back 1000 years ago.

Return details
Zagreb landmark, known by its name and not location.

  • Cathedral of Zagreb
Kaptol and the Zagreb Cathedral is not just a church, it is an identity building landmark for all Croatians
  • Dolac Market
During our morning walks we can make a short stop on Dolac market to sense the place where we buy local and seasonal food
  • Tkalciceva Street
We all have the same itinerary, but do we tell the same stories? A line that divided Zagreb in the past is unifying it today.
  • The Stone Gate of Zagreb is a special place where we can feel a medieval character of the Upper Town.
  • Upper Town Gornji Grad
The competition for power between two parts of Zagreb. Secular - or religious. Grič or Kaptol. The Upper Town's landmarks square beat the rhythm of the political life of the whole country (Republic of Croatia). Where do the Middle Ages hide here?
  • St. Mark's Church
The saint patron of the Upper Town is St Blaise (like in Dubrovnik), but the community church is dedicated to St. Mark (like in Venice). What was the medieval community like?
  • Funicular Railway
The Funicular is closed during 2025 and part of 2026. Work on the Funicular will begin on Monday, January 20, 2025, and is expected to be completed in March 2026.
  • Tunel Gric
    Fairytale or nightmare?
