White Horse HillThe White Horse may have served as a territorial marker or fertility symbol. The site's strategic position along the Ridgeway, Britain's oldest road, suggests it was a significant ceremonial location. The alignment with the winter solstice hints at its use in ancient rituals.

West Kennet Long BarrowThe barrow's alignment with the sunrise on certain days suggests it was used for rituals marking the passage of time and the seasons. We also visit the secret spring nearby.

The Red Lion Pub, located within the Avebury stone circle, is reputedly one of the most haunted pubs in England. It dates back to the 16th century and has a well inside the bar area.

AveburyAvebury is the largest megalithic stone circle in the world, dating back over 4,500 years. It may have been used for rituals, astronomical observations, and communal gatherings. The nearby Red Lion Pub is said to be haunted. We will have lunch in Avebury, where you can choose to eat at the Pub, or have your own picnic.
