Spanish StepsSpanish Steps The Spanish Steps are one of the most iconic landmarks in Rome, connecting Piazza di Spagna at the bottom with Trinità dei Monti Church at the top. This monumental staircase of 135 steps is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and a popular gathering spot for visitors. Built between 1723-1725, the steps were designed by Francesco de Sanctis and funded by French diplomat Étienne Gueffier. The name "Spanish Steps" comes from the Spanish Embassy, which has been located in Piazza di Spagna since the 17th century. Fontana della Barcaccia (Fountain of the Old Boat) Trinità dei Monti Church – A stunning 16th-century French church at the top of the steps, offering a fantastic view over Rome. Via Condotti – The famous shopping street near the steps, home to luxury brands like Gucci, Prada, and Valentino. Great Photo Spot: Capture breathtaking views from the top, especially at sunset!

Trevi FountainTrevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi) The Trevi Fountain is one of the most famous fountains in the world and a must-visit landmark in Rome. This stunning Baroque masterpiece, standing at 26 meters (85 feet) high and 49 meters (161 feet) wide, is the largest fountain in Rome. Designed by Nicola Salvi in 1732 and completed in 1762 by Giuseppe Pannini. Built at the end of an ancient Roman aqueduct (Aqua Virgo) that has supplied water to Rome for over 2,000 years. The central figure is Oceanus, the god of the sea, riding a shell-shaped chariot pulled by two seahorses, guided by Tritons.
-
PantheonThe Pantheon is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman monuments and a true architectural marvel. Originally built as a temple to all gods, it is now a church and one of the most visited sites in Rome. First built by Marcus Agrippa in 27 BC, later rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian around 118–125 AD after a fire. The largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world, with a diameter of 43.3 meters (142 ft)—an engineering feat even today! The oculus (circular opening at the top) is 9 meters (30 ft) wide and lets natural light (and rain!) in. Since 609 AD, it has been a Christian church known as Basilica of St. Mary and the Martyrs.
-
ColosseumThe Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, is the most famous symbol of Ancient Rome and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. This massive arena, built nearly 2,000 years ago, was the stage for gladiator battles, wild animal hunts, and public spectacles. Built between 70-80 AD under Emperors Vespasian and Titus. It was the largest amphitheater ever built, seating 50,000–80,000 spectators. Used for gladiator fights, naval battles (when flooded), and executions. Damaged by earthquakes and looting, but still stands as a symbol of Roman engineering.
-
Circo MassimoThe Circus Maximus is one of the most fascinating ancient Roman sites, once the largest chariot racing stadium in the world. While today it may look like a large green space, it was once the heart of Roman entertainment, capable of seating over 150,000 spectators. Built in the 6th century BC, during the reign of King Tarquinius Priscus, and later expanded by Julius Caesar and other emperors. The Circus Maximus was primarily used for chariot races, a thrilling and dangerous sport that was the most popular form of entertainment in ancient Rome. It was also used for other public events such as athletic contests, gladiatorial fights, and religious ceremonies.
