Enjoy a private and authentic cooking class in a local Santiago home with your host Carol. Carol and Paulo offer a hands-on Chilean cooking class in Santiago, during which you will get to cook along with them to prepare a traditional appetizer or dessert and main dish. As their kitchen is small, you will use the dining table to help with prep work and will watch Carol adding the finishing touches to the meal in the kitchen. The cooking portion of the experience will last about one hour, after which you will enjoy the meal you helped prepare.

You will have the option of choosing a Chilean or Peruvian menu (or a mixture of both), starting with an appetizer such as sopaipilla (fried pastry) or pebre (a type of salsa with tomatoes, onion and coriander) or a mix of Peruvian cancha (toasted corn nuts), fried plantain and olives. Followed by palta reina (avocado with smoked salmon, cream cheese and parsley filling) or a Peruvian entrée. As a main course you might be served pastel de jaiba (Chilean crab casserole) or ají de gallina (Peruvian dish, similar to a curry). End your meal with a dessert such as a Chilean cake or crema volteada (Peruvian flan).
