Messaria - The Authentic Heart of Santorini Messaria is my home and the place where I live. While most stay on the caldera edge, venturing into the island's center reveals its true soul. In the 19th century, this was the industrial heart of Santorini. Today, you will see a fascinating contrast between grand neoclassical mansions and humble local cave houses. As we wander this non touristy hidden gem, you will experience authentic local life. Hear church bells, see neighbors chatting, and enjoy the scent of blooming bougainvillea spilling over garden walls.
