SantoriniThe whitewashed villages and blue-domed churches of Santorini are some of the most photographed sights in Greece, and walking these iconic streets is a remarkable experience. On a hilltop set back from the caldera's edge, you'll find Pyrgos, a medieval village less touched by tourism, where narrow streets lead you to the remains of an ancient castle. Continue to Firostefani where you'll begin your 30-minute walk to Imerovigli for astounding views from the clifftops. Then take a half hour drive to Oia where you'll have ample time to explore this one-of-a-kind village. The beauty of this whitewashed town accented with colorful pastels of cave homes built into the cliffs, all overlooking the splendor of the bay and the ever-changing perspective of the caldera. Finally, drive back to Fira where you can take a stroll on the promenade passing pretty churches and more remarkable vistas in route to the cable car that will bring you down the cliffside and back to the tender port.
