  • Isla Negra Museum House
The Pablo Neruda Foundation is in charge of the preservacion and spreading of the artist’s heritage, they are in charge of three museums, houses that used to be inhabited by the poet. His getaway house in Isla Nera is the most popular, and Neruda’s favorite, and its filled with several personal objects and collections. When visiting you will be able to appreciate several manuscripts, books, bottles, seashells and enormous figureheads that Neruda recolected throughout his life.
  • Of its tourist attractions, the most popular are, of course, the beaches. The main one is Playa Chica (155 meters wide by 80 m long, with thick yellow sand), from which you can see many of the residences of the architectural heritage of Las Cruces; behind a roquerío below is the picturesque fishing cove. (pass by)
  • Pomaire
Walking down the main street, stores overflowing with handmade clay ceramics — known as greda — line both sides for as far as you can see. This is perhaps what Pomaire is best known for. Everything is made from a distinctive clay—a rose tinted earthen mixture that is both warm and rustic. Artisans craft the clay into casserole dishes and bowls ideal for preparing traditional Chilean dishes like cazuela, porotos, and of course, pastel de choclo. In fact, if your pastel de choclo is cooked in anything other than a Pomaire dish, it is not quite authentic.
